Chapel St. Robertus Bellarminus

Well, it's time to describe a place. This place is one of our (Devi and Lice) favorite places in Sanata Dharma University. We can pray there because it's silent. We also can play piano or sing here.

Chapel St. Robertus Bellarminus is the chapel of Sanata Dharma University. It is located inside of the college, near from the college's parking lot. The chapel is facing to the south and surrounded by trees and small garden. Its main entrance is on the south of the building. From the main entrance, we can see altar directly. There are chairs which are divided into left and right side. The chapel's windows are unique because there are mosaics in each of the windows. Along the chapel's wall, there are 14 paintings of "The Passion of The Christ".

The cross is hanging on the wall behind altar. There are two statues in the left and right side of altar. Mary statue is placed on the right side, while Jesus statue is placed on the left side. There are candles in front of each statue. On the left corner from altar, there is choir area with organ and piano.

The chapel has a balcony which is facing straight to altar. The balcony is on the second floor. There are two downstairs which are heading to that balcony.

I think that's all what we can explain about the chapel. So, if you are Christian, you can go there to pray or just to calm yourself down. It's beautiful and peaceful.

I am Me

I'm a girl of 18 years. In describing myself, I consider myself as funny and easy going. I like joking. When people haven't knew me, they will think that I am quite person but I am not, especially when I'm with my close friends, I'll be out of control.

I have black long hair, small eyes and medium height body. When I was in elementary school, people guessed that I had Chinese ancestry because I was like Chinese. Now, my skin is not as white as when I was kid so people never recognize me as Chinese anymore.

I like simple things, especially for what I am wearing. I don't need luxurious brand or expensive clothes to cover myself everyday. T-shirt, jeans and sneakers are my own style and they make me so comfortable and being the real me.

I'm a good listener if there is someone sharing his/her feeling. In Bahasa Indonesia, it's called 'curhat'. So when my friend is happy, sad, dissapointed, etc they come to me and tell or share his/her feeling. I usually give him/her some advice to make his/her life better.

I like reading, music, and football. Right now, I'm still reading "Saving Private Ryan". That novel is adapted from a major movie whose the same title and it's directed by Steven Spielberg. I enjoy listening to music. Actually I like rock music, but nowadays I prefer pop to rock because pop music is very relaxing. I play guitar and I've made my own song but I never show it to my friends. I'm also still learning to play piano.

I have a quote which is taken from Holy Bible : "God makes all the things beautiful in time." I do believe it and it works for me.

One of My Best Friends

Hey guys, I'm going to tell you about one of my best friends. Maybe some of you have known this person because she is also studying in PBI. Guess who?? She's is Tyka. My friends call her "Babi" cause she loves pig very much.
I have been becoming her friend since we were in elementary school, then we meet again in PBI.

She likes playing violin. She's also interested to play guitar. So, when I came to her home, she asked me to teach me how to play guitar.

She likes joking and her humor sense is great! We always laugh out loud every time we are together and making joke. She's the right place to tell the secret. Until now, she keeps my biggest secret. Haha.

I think that's enough to tell about her. If you want to know more about her, you can see her everyday in PBI.

Bali, Paradise Island

I was in 2nd grade of high school when my school held study tour to Bali Island. Actually, it was not my first time to go there because I ever went to Bali before.

The journey to Bali was about 1,5 days but I didn't feel bored because my friends always gave me some jokes and made me laugh. During the journey, sometimes I felt so sleepy, I just slept on the bus chair and it made me felt very stiff.

We crossed Selat Bali by ship at 4 a.m and the scenery of the harbour was so beautiful. One hour later we arrived at Bali Island. Our bus took us to nearest restaurant so we can have breakfast and take a bath. After that, the vacation was begun.

We went to many beautiful places such as Sanur Beach, Bedugul, Garuda Wisnu Kencana, Kuta Beach and so on. The most beautiful place is Garuda Wisnu Kencana. I think that is combination of traditional and modern place. And the most romantic place is Kuta Beach. I saw sunset there and it was very beautiful.

We were not only having vacation, but also studying about relationship in social life, so we did live in and we slept in villager's home. It was exciting because we could knew more about Balinese and their culture.



We were in Bali just 3 days, then we went back to Jogja. I felt so tired but I was so much happy because of this. I never forget that moment because Bali is greatest place that I've ever visited.

English Welcoming Day 2009

Last week was the unforgetable moment since I have been in PBI. Why? Because last week I had English Welcoming Day (EWD) with all my friends from PBI. I am going to tell you a little bit about that EWD.

 

EWD was held in Wonogondang camping ground, which is located in Kaliurang. The temperature in Wonogondang was very cold although the sun was still shining us. And at the night, we had so many activities, like doing some jingle, talent show and tracking!! In talent show, my group showed the kickboxing championship with Liece and Cemara as the kickboxer. They were so funny when did the talent show. And the boys became the cheers and their appearance made me laugh because they acted and danced like feminine girls.

 

After talent show, I had about 2 hours to sleep before tracking. We (me and my group) slept in the same tent with our group leader. I was so tired and sleppy and I think 2 hours was not enough for me to take some rest. At 2 a.m my group leader woke me up because it was our turn to do tracking. Gosh, it was very cold and my jacket could not make me warm. I walked out the tent and it felt like I was drunken because I was so sleepy, tired, and hungry plus the very very cold temperature.

 

The tracking was great because I could see amazing stars in the sky that I couldn’t see when I was in home. And the scenery of the city night was awesome. We could see the view of Jogja in the night and it’s romantic.

 

We finished our tracking in the morning when the sun came up and I could see beautiful sunrise. After tracking, we had outbound. It was fun though my clothes were wet.

We left Wonogondang about 4.30 p.m by bus. In the journey back to the university, I fell asleep because I was sooooo tired and didn’t have energy anymore. When I opened my eyes, I had arrived in university. Then I came home by car.

 

EWD was great moment and gave me so many experience. I also could find another amazing friends. Thanks EWD.
